Press Release Summary: Latest release incorporates key features, bug fixes, and other new solutions for a number of issues
Press Release Body: Rome, Italy April 8, 2008 NoMachine announced today its next minor dot release of the NX Client, Server, and Node products. The new NX Client, Server, and Node 3.2.0 releases collectively integrate key features and fixes for the previously released NX 3.1.0, along with new added improvements.
This release does not just offer the usual fixes that accompany a minor dot version. A number of new improvements have also been made and some of which include:
Improved NX Client Behavior in Kiosk Environments The NX Client running on a kiosk terminal, when configured to show the login dialog box once the session is closed, the "no exit" feature can now immediately retrieve the session file used to start the session. In this way, achieving a full lock down completely prevents user interference of the NX Client and guarantees quick and easy access for busy kiosk terminals.
New Support for Mac 10.5 NoMachine has extended its impressive array of supported operating systems to include Mac Leopard. NoMachine enhanced the NX Client to now start the X server on Mac 10.5 using launchd, a service manager that manages the X11.app application.
Improvements for Copy&Paste Operations Enhancements have been made to improve copy&paste operations, adding more support to the previously implemented advanced capabilities that allow limiting the amount of data copied between sessions, as well as the ability to completely disable copy/paste functionality.
A number of bug fixes provide overall improvements to specific key functions:
Stability in NX Sessions Possible decoding failures that were causing the sudden disconnection of the session have been solved. The NX session may have previously abruptly suspended when using industry-specific applications such as the geoprocessing technology QGIS. Sessions are now more reliable, even when running such applications.
Improvements to and Consolidation of Multiple Rootless Sessions The ability to re-use the already established NX tunnel when starting a second rootless session has been maximized to provide faster start-up time of subsequent applications. Additionally, fixes have been implemented to correct behavior of superimposed windows in rootless X11 sessions, that displayed the content of lower windows in Microsoft Windows.
Improved Remote Printing Blocking issues that were preventing the use of NX printing functionalities have now been resolved.
Availability: Updated NX 3.2.0 Client, Server, and Node packages are immediately available at the NoMachine website. As always, TestDrive is available for all of our Linux, Windows, Mac, and Solaris Client users who wish to see NX in action.
